For relocation firms and HR teams

School search and education support for your assignees' families in Japan

Every family you move asks the same question: what is the best path we can give our child from where we stand today? The answer turns on the ward they live in, their budget, their child, and rules each school sets in its own documents. Shinro Map lays out the route that fits, each school's rule, and every deadline on the way, and a named advisor answers in writing.

The decision is worth millions of yen: three years of juku before 中学受験 (chūgaku juken, the junior-high entrance exams) average ¥2.2 million.

Who it is for

Relocation firms, destination-services teams and HR teams that move assignees with children to Japan.

  • Families settling in Tokyo or Kanagawa, where Shinro Map covers 43 schools and the daycare application dates of 22 wards and cities.
  • Children heading for junior high: 中学受験 (chūgaku juken), a 帰国生 (kikokusei, returnee) or 国際生 (kokusaisei, international-student) entry, or a public combined junior and senior high school.
  • Younger children: the April 2027 application round for 認可保育園 (ninka hoikuen, licensed daycare) in the family's ward.
  • Assignees already in Japan whose child is reaching the junior-high decision.

What an assignee family gets

All of it is live on the site today. The family uses its own account, the same way any parent does.

  1. The free juken check

Eight questions about the child and the family's plans, about two minutes, no sign-in. It shows which junior-high route fits, the published costs, which named schools' entry rules the child meets, and the next three steps.

    Open the check

  2. A written review by a named advisor

A bilingual advisor reads the family's saved result and profile and each shortlisted school's own 募集要項 (boshū yōkō, application guidelines), then writes back by email within 48 hours: the route and the reasoning, the shortlist with each rule quoted, the money plan through grade 6, what to do in the next 30 days and the questions to ask each school. There is a written 保活 (hokatsu, daycare search) review too.

  3. The season pass

A monthly pass for the 中学受験 years: every school's verified 2027 rule, exam dates and fees on the family's result, reminder emails before each deadline on their timeline, unlimited questions, and more printout scans each day.

  4. The knowledge base

163 articles, from daycare to high-school entry, each checked against the official Japanese source it was written from and linked to it. Free to read.

  5. The printout scanner

The family photographs a printout from school, daycare or the ward office and sees what it is, what to do, by when and what to bring.

The review and the pass are both refunded in full if the family tells us within 7 days, no questions asked.

What we checked, and when

  • 43 schools and 72 entry routes. Each rule is quoted from the official 2027 募集要項 (application guidelines).

  • 100 exam dates, and the yearly fees of 30 schools, from the same documents.

  • April 2027 daycare application dates for 22 wards and cities, each read on its own official page.

  • 163 guides, each linked to the Japanese source it was written from.

How a firm works with us

  • Per family: a written review for each family you choose, or a season pass for each family.
  • Invoiced to your firm. The details are agreed by email.
  • The family gets what any parent who buys on the site gets: the same check, the same review, the same pass.
  • Pricing by email.

What we never do

  • Promise admission, or say a child will pass.
  • Rank schools as the best.
  • Judge or label a child.
  • Sell a family's data, or use it for advertising.
