miraicompass (ミライコンパス) is the web-application service its own guide describes for private junior and senior high exams. The company's own guide says you register, pay the exam fee online, and print the exam ticket at home. It also says a given school may still want a paper form, a visit, or a payment at the window. Read that school's guidebook (募集要項, boshū yōkō) before you rely on the general steps.
What you do on the site
Use a computer, a phone or a tablet, and a printer. A convenience-store copier can print the ticket if you have no printer. Yamate Gakuin's April 2027 guidebook adds that a family with no internet can ask the school to use a computer there.
Open the link on the school's website. miraicompass says the link appears when that school's application period starts. There is no single national opening day.
Register your email address as the ID. Allow mail from @e-shiharai.net, and allow messages that contain a link. On a phone, check the carrier's junk-mail settings. The guide links the setup pages for docomo, au and SoftBank.
Choose はじめての方はこちら, send the address, and wait for a confirmation code. Enter the code, the child's name in katakana, and a password. You then choose whether this ID is a shared ID (共通ID, also called mcID).
Log in to マイページ. Start with 新規申込手続きへ. Pick the exam from the list, enter the child's and the parents' details, then pick the date and, where the school asks, the course or the subjects. You can select more than one exam before you pay.
Pay. miraicompass lists a credit card (a parent's card is allowed, and card payment can be finished at any hour), a convenience store (keep the receipt; there is a payment deadline), and Pay-easy at a bank ATM. Paying at a bank teller window is not the Pay-easy path. Some schools also offer Amazon Pay, PayPay or au PAY. The processing fee is extra and depends on the method. Which methods a school turns on is that school's choice.
After payment, open 受験票/確認票 on the my page and print the ticket on white A4 paper.
A shared ID is worth setting up if you will apply to more than one school. Registering the email, the katakana name and the password once lets you log in at another school's miraicompass site, including for an open day or a pamphlet request. The child's name, the current school and the other personal details are entered again at each school.
受験生の氏名や出身校などの個人情報は各学校に申し込む度に入力する必要があります。
Twins, or two children in one household, can share the login. miraicompass says to add the second child from the menu at the top right of the my page. Yamate says the same, under 志願者追加.
Where a school's April 2027 guidebook adds a step
These are three schools' own rules, not miraicompass's.
School
What it adds
Yamate Gakuin (Yokohama)
You may register the ID and type details from 10:00 on 6 Dec 2026. Payment starts at 10:00 on 6 Jan 2027. A photo already stored on a shared ID does not need a second upload. Characters that the site cannot store are replaced with a simpler form, and those characters are what the pass letter and the admission permit will use.
Yokohama Kyoritsu
The photo must be in colour. The form asks for a statement of reasons of up to 300 characters, so write it before you start. A card payment needs 3D Secure.
Keio Shonan Fujisawa, returnee exam
Paying is only half. Papers must also arrive by registered post from 1 to 14 Dec 2026. The ticket can be printed from 22 Jan 2027, after the school has matched the papers to the registration. The photo is colour, JPEG or PNG, under 3 MB, taken in the last three months, shoulders up, no hat, plain background. The same photo is glued to the paper form.
If the school wants a school report or a transcript, miraicompass prints an address label with the ticket. Cut it off, stick it on the envelope, and post by the method that school names (often 簡易書留, registered mail). Keio will not tell you the envelope arrived. Track it yourself.
What it costs, and what you cannot undo
The exam fee is the school's, not miraicompass's. On these three April 2027 guidebooks it is ¥25,000 at Yamate for one round (¥40,000 if you pay for two or more rounds at the same time), ¥25,000 at Yokohama Kyoritsu for one round, and ¥30,000 at Keio's returnee exam. A processing fee sits on top. Once the fee is paid, these guidebooks do not refund it, with one Kyoritsu exception: if you applied to both of its rounds and you pass the first and complete enrolment, the second round's exam fee comes back.
miraicompass says that after you pay you cannot change the exam on the screen. If the date or the subjects are wrong, contact the school. Yamate says the same, and that payment itself is what completes the application.
What goes wrong
The confirmation mail lands in junk, so the ID is never finished and the deadline passes.
You pay, then notice the wrong exam. The screen will not undo it.
You use a new email for a second round at the same school. Yamate and several other guidebooks say a later application has to use the first email.
You have no printer on the morning of the exam. Print the ticket the day you pay.
You treat the my page as the whole application at a school that also wants a posted, sealed school report.
The guide's help path is the よくある質問 link at the bottom of the application site, then the call centre, which miraicompass says is staffed 24 hours.
What to do now
Pick the schools and the rounds, and put each application's payment deadline in the diary. Typing the form early is not the same as paying.
Register one shared ID, allow mail from @e-shiharai.net, and write down the password.
For each school, read whether a photo, a statement, or a posted document sits on top of the payment.
If a kanji in your child's name will not type, ask the school which substitute it will print on the admission permit before you pay.
Your child's dates, not the general ones
Add your child and ward. The timeline does the rest.
