Toshima ward (豊島区) opened applications for its public kindergartens (区立幼稚園) on 1 October 2026. This is not the licensed daycare round.
Who can apply
A child who will be living in Toshima with a parent on 1 April 2027, born from 2 April 2022 through 1 April 2023. The ward describes that range as the 4-year-old class.
When and how
1–23 October 2026. Apply on the ward's electronic form for the kindergarten application. The counter, if you use it, is the kindergarten group of the childcare section (保育課), 4th floor of the main ward office, 8:30–17:00 on weekdays.
If you do not yet live in Toshima, the page asks for extra papers so the ward can see that you will. If the residence record is not in Toshima on 1 April 2027, the application becomes void.
The forms listed on the page are the kindergarten application, the education-and-childcare benefit certification form, and a questionnaire the ward said it would post later. Verify with the childcare section before you file. The page does not say how many places each kindergarten has.
