Minato ward (港区) has published the preschool-entry health check (就学時健康診断, shūgakuji kenkō shindan) for children due to start school in April 2027. You go to the check even if you hope to use a different school later.
Where and when
The check is at the elementary school for the address where you live, not at a school you are hoping to choose. The notice with your date, place and time is mailed in mid-October 2026 (令和8年10月中旬) to parents of children living in Minato who are due to start in fiscal 2027.
On the timetable PDF, the listed days run from Thursday 22 October 2026 (Takanawadai) through Thursday 19 November 2026 (Onarimon Gakuen and Minamiyama). Schools marked with ※ stagger the reception. Use the time on your own notice.
The PDF says this timetable is the plan as of 1 July. A change of day is accepted only after your notice has arrived.
