A child can take the Kanji Kentei (漢検, Kanken) on paper at one of the foundation's public venues (公開会場, kōkai kaijō) by registering as an individual. Levels 1 to 10 are offered.

Places are first come, first served (先着順). Apply through the foundation's examinee page (受検者マイページ), which is run by CBT-Solutions. You can register an account before the application window opens.
The result papers are a result notice, a pass certificate (合格証書) and a proof-of-pass certificate (合格証明書).

Pay by credit card, at a convenience store, at a bank ATM (Pay-easy) or by PayPay QR code.
The foundation also offers the test on a computer at a test centre and on a tablet at home. Those are separate pages with their own dates.
Check the foundation's page before you pay. This article does not say which level a school wants.
