When does the school-entry notice (就学通知) arrive for April 2027?2027年4月入学の就学通知はいつ届く？

What to do

The ward must tell you your child's public elementary school and entry date by January 31. Children without Japanese nationality may get a school guide (就学案内) instead and need to apply for a place.

• No notice by January 31? Call the ward's school-affairs section (学務課, gakumuka).
• No Japanese nationality: if you received a school guide (就学案内), return the entry application (入学申請書) to get a place.
• Going to a private, national or international school instead? Tell the ward so the public place is released.
