Who may apply
All of: (1) of the Japanese school age to finish primary school in March 2027; (2) stayed abroad 1 year or more because of a parent's work or similar, and returned to Japan in or after January 2023; (3) can commute from the guardian's home after entry.
Japanese original (出願資格)
以下の条件をすべて満たす児童 ①日本の学齢で令和9年（2027年）3月 小学校卒業見込み相当の児童 ②保護者の勤務等により海外に1年以上滞在し、令和5年（2023年）1月以降に帰国した児童 ③入学後、保護者の元から通学できる児童

- Bring the overseas-stay certificate (海外在留証明書) from the school's website on exam day.
- Type B converts an Eiken CSE score (a pass is not needed) to 70-100 points and uses it only when it raises the result.
- No scholarship places in the returnee exam.
