Chuo ward: April 2027 licensed daycare is two rounds in November and February

Chuo ward (中央区) takes the licensed-daycare application itself. That covers a licensed daycare (認可保育所), the daycare part of a certified children's centre (認定こども園), and community-type care (地域型保育). You file with the ward.

Certified childcare (認証保育所) and unlicensed care (認可外保育施設) are different: the page says you apply to the facility, not through this ward form. The kindergarten part of a certified children's centre also has its own form.

Counter hours are 8:30–17:00. Licensed facilities also stop at 17:00, including on Wednesdays when some other ward counters stay open until 19:00.

Mail must arrive on the last day. A postmark is not enough. Use tracked mail. The ward is not responsible for mail that goes missing.

Online closes at 23:59 on the last day. An application sent outside the window is treated as the following month's round. The page's example: an application on 31 July 2027 is for October, not August.

Questions about the papers have to be asked at the ward office, 6th floor (保育課保育入園係). Other counters only receive the envelope. Fax and email are not accepted.

The ward may text you about the application from 03-3546-5227. The page says that text will not ask you to transfer money, use an ATM, or hand over a bank book or card.
