Shinagawa ward: April 2027 daycare deadlines, without a published opening day

Shinagawa ward (品川区) published the Reiwa 9 selection schedule on 7 October 2026. The table gives deadlines. It does not say which day each April round opens. The ward says the dates can change.

Online closes at 23:59 on the deadline. Mail by simple registered post (簡易書留) can use a postmark (消印有効). Other mail is not covered if it goes missing. The counter is weekdays 8:30–17:00.

A result is a letter, planned to arrive on the result day. A "no place" letter (保育所等利用不可通知書) is sent for the first month you applied for, not again for later months. Ask the ward if you need another copy for childcare-leave benefits.

An application is valid only through the February adjustment of that fiscal year. April of the next year needs a new application, including a new employment certificate. Applying before the birth is possible only for the February round and the April first round.

You also need a My Number on the certification form, for each parent, including a parent away on a job posting. Disaster, abuse, and domestic violence are the exceptions the page names. At the counter, bring one photo ID or two documents without a photo, plus something that shows the number. The ward will still accept a form with the number blank and may look it up.

Fax and email are not accepted. Reservations and applications to a daycare outside Shinagawa cannot be filed online. Verify with the admissions desk (保育入園調整課, 03-5742-6725).
